ABOUT US

Dancing Olive Productions is an independent production company founded by filmmakers Cecelia Farrah and James English.

We started Dancing Olive because, quite simply, we love making films together. We write, direct and produce our own projects, working with wonderful actors and crew to take them from slightly ridiculous conversations and half-formed ideas all the way through to finished films.

We love films with personality, memorable characters, distinctive worlds, a strong sense of humour and, usually, something a little strange going on. We have a particular soft spot for period pieces and love bringing different eras to life on screen, whether that means stepping back a few decades or a few centuries. The research, costumes, sets, props and tiny details that make another time feel real are some of our favourite parts of filmmaking.

More than anything, we want to make things that we would genuinely be excited to watch ourselves.

Dancing Olive is our little home for doing exactly that. We’re still growing, still learning, and always working on whatever comes next.
